Defra confirms green waste target
The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) has reconfirmed that green waste will count towards the 50% target for municipal waste set out in the revised European Waste Framework Directive (WFD).Defras clarification came in a letter sent in December 2008 to County Surveyors Society Waste Panel chair Julia Barrett, who raised concerns expressed at the panels meeting on November 25.
