Size matters in the super council debate

This week three London councils announced their plans to merge their service delivery in order to create the UK’s first ‘super council’.  Communities Secretary Eric Pickles, in a statement to the BBC on 22 October, said that he thought that Hammersmith and Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster were “leading the way” and that other authorities should follow.
