REY becomes part of CO2Sense
Paul Sanderson 18 Nov 2009 Resource Efficiency Yorkshire has been merged into a new consultancy called CO2Sense Yorkshire.
Along with REY, the new organisation will also incorporate Future Energy Yorkshire and Carbon Action Yorkshire with an overall aim to help businesses in the Yorkshire and Humberside region. REY’s programme director Andy Hartley is now the operations director of CO2Sense with the organisation being led by Joanne Pollard whose background is in retail. All of the current REY team has joined CO2Sense.
Mr Hartley said: “The Yorkshire and Humber region produces 17 percent of the UK’s emissions and is the second largest emitter of CO2 in Europe because of its coal power stations and heavy industries. The aim of CO2Sense will be to make Yorkshire and Humberside the place where people come to understand how to reduce carbon. We will be working with businesses large and small to help them reduce their CO2 emissions.”
His role within the new organisation will be to continue the resource efficiency work that was done by REY.
