Air monitors to keep staff safe

Q: What is your product?

The ADR-1500 is a fixed area dust/aerosol monitor for continuous monitoring, and the PDR-1500 is a portable monitor for personal exposure at multiple locations, both by Air Monitors.

Q: How do they work?

Both instruments employ light scattering photometers with relative humidity compensation and true volumetric flow control to provide high-precision, realtime results.

Q: Where would they ideally be used?

National ambient monitoring systems are already in place and strict regulations restrict the particulate matter (PM) emissions from industry and vehicles. But employers have a duty of care to protect their staff, so accurate monitoring of the workplace is essential.

Q: How are they different?

Weighing just 13kg, the ADR-1500 has a weather-proof IP65 housing and a handle that allows for ease of transport and installation with mounting options available for wall, post or tripod locations.

Data is recorded at intervals ranging from one second to one hour. The unit issues an alarm as soon as PM levels reach a user-defined level.

The PDR-1500 personal monitor weighs 1.2kg, can run from a fixed position or be worn on a belt to facilitate realtime measurements as the user moves between locations.

Q: What are the benefits?

These high-resolution instruments offer an extremely wide measurement range from 0.001 to 400mg/cu m, covering all particulates from TSP, PM-10 down to PM-1 for retrospective analysis.

Q: Where have they been used?

The PDR-1500 enables occupational safety managers and consultants to conduct accurate surveys to assess the levels of risk and identify potentially dangerous areas. The ADR-1500 complements this by providing the ability to continuously monitor those areas and ensuring the protection of staff and visitors.

Q: What about maintenance?

Both monitors are user friendly and require minor in-house maintenance. Air Monitors does suggest that they are serviced yearly.
