As-new vehicles from stock

Gloucestershire-based remanufacturing and used refuse vehicle expert Refuse Vehicle Solutions (RVS) launched its RediTruck service, which enables waste management operators to buy a new commercial specification vehicle from stock without having to wait for a manufacturer’s lead time.

Its first RediTruck, on display at RWM, has been bought by Devon Contract Waste (DCW) which has also ordered a further two vehicles. All three are Mercedes Antos with a Dennis Olympus body, weighing-prepared and fitted with trade binlifts.

Simon Almond, DCW managing director, said: “In our industry things move quickly. For example it might be a new customer or a fleet starts costing too much to repair, so you need to refresh it quickly. New trucks that are ready in commercial specification are very hard to find ‘off-the-shelf ’ so RediTruck is very appealing. Most operators would pay a premium to get such a vehicle quickly. We have saved money going with RVS.”
