Baler has safety in mind

Irish waste management and recycling company Bourke Waste Removal and Recycling Services, of County Mayo, has replaced its old baler with an LP 60 VH1 model from Presona.

It is being used to compact recycled cardboard, paper, plastics, carpet and various other materials from municipal and business collections.

Presona’s engineering team redesigned the existing conveyor pit to fit the LP 60 and integral conveyor. The baler will process up to 10 tonnes an hour of loose cardboard at 30kg per cu m.

Enhanced safety features were a key priority for the Bourke team, and the Presona LP Series are CE-marked and meet the Machninery Directive. Moving parts are protected and fitted with safety switches, while automatic shutoff has been incorporated as standard.

Stanley Bourke, managing director, said: “We are very impressed with many features, especially those for safety, easy operation, and excellent bales are produced with the automatic tying system. It has increased our output greatly and we are very happy with it.”
