Check for crane wire ropes

Street CraneXpress (SCX) has introduced wire rope scanning technology for crane equipment used in waste incineration plants.

Director Ray Fletcher said: “Condition monitoring should be performed regularly, not only to reduce the risk of failure and costly downtime, but also to ensure lifting appliances are running safely and in prime condition.”

The Wire Rope Non-Destructive Testing service uses magnetic flux technology to allow a full cross-section inspection of the whole length of a crane’s wire ropes. This identifies a problem in time to take preventive action.
