Compaction and sensing

South Korea-based Ecube Labs presented three main products: Clean Cube, Clean Cap, and Clean Cube Networks (CCN).

It chose RWM as the first show to reveal a working model of Clean Cap as well as the upgraded version of CCN.

Clean Cube is a solar-powered compaction bin which compresses rubbish and holds up to eight times more rubbish than an ordinary bin. Clean Cap is a solar-powered rubbish fill-level sensor that can be attached to any existing bin to detect how full it is.

Both products send waste fill-level information to a server via WCDMA GSM modules so that waste collection managers can use the CCN software to monitor a bin’s status in real time.
