Contract: North of England Commercial Procurement Collaborative: clinical-waste collection services.

Description:  A three-year framework agreement for six operators to provide healthcare waste services. Lot 1: collection, transportation and disposal of all categories of healthcare waste on a bin exchange/bulk basis. Lot 2: collection, transportation and disposal of all categories of healthcare waste on a small collection such as a bag/bin basis. Lot 3: reusable sharps safe containers.

Value:  £100,000-£60m

Deadline: 10.3.2014



Contract: St. Helens Council: commercial waste recycling.

Description: A two-year framework agreement to collect and recycle waste from businesses within St Helens that have requested this service from St Helens Council and to dispose of any waste collected that cannot be recycled. Also to accept direct delivery of commercial waste at a facility for recycling.

Contract: Suffolk County Council: treatment and recycling of street sweepings.

Description: Contract for treatment of mechanical street sweepings waste that has been direct delivered from the seven Suffolk Waste Collection Authorities (WCAs). Includes collection and haulage of mechanical street sweepings waste from designated WCA depots where required.

Contract: Devon & Cornwall Constabulary: regional waste management contract.

Description: A four-year framework agreement with several operators for waste management to include residual waste, recycling, combined residual/recycling, skip hire, clinical/sharps, hazardous waste, IT disposal, specialist waste and metal waste. Lot 1: residual waste. Lot 2: recycling. Lot 3: combined residual/recycling. Lot 4: ad hoc skip hire. Lot 5: clinical/sharps. Lot 6: hazardous waste (inc WEEE). Lot 7: IT disposal. Lot 8: specialist waste. Lot 9: metal waste. For each Lot this will be further divided into eight geographic areas.

Contract: Norse Commercial Services: MRF upgrade.

Description: Installation services of industrial machinery and recycling equipment. Includes sorting and screening machines. The upgrade of the MRF will need to integrate with the existing MRF separation equipment and will provide additional separation processes for glass and plastics pots, tubs and trays in addition to the current range of output recyclables.

Value: £2.5m



Contract. Norse Commercial Services: transfer station operation in North Norfolk.

Description: Contract to provide waste transfer station facilities in Norfolk. Includes providing and maintaining a facility or facilities capable of receiving, handling, and storing contract waste delivered under North Norfolk District Council’s municipal solid and recycling centre residual waste collection services.
