Fire at Grimsby recycling site

Fire services have tackled a blaze at a recycling facility in Grimsby.

Humberside Fire and Rescue Service was originally called to the Wickham Road site in the dockside area at 9.16pm on Sunday 10 July to tackle a blaze involving a large amount of waste material in a recycling plant compound.

Local reports said the site was owned by Brianplant.

Employees at the yard used heavy machinery to drag waste materials away from the flames.

One appliance had to return in the early hours to deal with ‘hot spots’.
