Forklift safety course

Mentor Training has launched the first-ever Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH)- accredited safety management course tailored to people who oversee forklift operations.

IOSH Managing Safely: Forklift Operations recognises the important role in safety played by managers and supervisers. The four-day course was developed in close partnership with IOSH and is exclusive to Mentor.

Mentor director Stuart Taylor said: “We have seen the Health & Safety Executive highlight management’s responsibilities, and [there has been] a rise in the numbers of managers and directors prosecuted for neglect.”

The nine-module course provides delegates from any industry with a practical understanding of what must be done to ensure safety in their teams’ work, with added reference throughout to lift trucks and the environments in which they operate. A full additional module is specific to the challenges of materials handling.
