Q: What is your product?
Supaflame is a SGS-certified heat log made from recycled rice husk, the by-product of rice production. Backed by Ravensbourne Investments, Fuel World (UK) has launched Supaflame on the UK market following success in others.
Q: How does it work?
Supaflame heat logs work as an alternative to coal or wood. The process of creating and using the logs has a carbon- neutral impact on the environment. The pack of hexagonal shaped logs will burn for up to 10 hours.
Q: Where would it ideally be used?
It is an environmentally friendly alternative to wood and coal and best used in open fires, log burners, fire pits and chimeneas. It can be used indoors or outdoors, and is ideal for use on campsites as the product is clean to use and easy to transport.
Q: How is it different?
It offers a unique alterative to other fuel sources on the UK market, which can be messy to use and have a negative impact on the environment. Its unique selling point is the continuous life of the product. The logs are formed from a by-product of another production (rice) and formed into the logs. The residual husk after burning can be used as a fertiliser.
Q: What are the benefits?
The heat logs are easy to use and an eco-friendly alternative fuel source that burn hotter and longer than coal and 20% hotter than wood. Supaflame produces 11% more energy on a weight-for-weight basis than coal or wood. The heat logs release no more carbon into the atmosphere than was used by the rice plant when growing.
The heat logs come in a pack of six in a shrink-wrapped pack, with a recommended retail price of £4.99. Discounts are available when ordering in bulk via the Supaflame website.
Q: Any future applications?
Additional products are under development and further launches are expected this year.
Q: How many have you sold and where?

Q: Anything else?
Supaflame is reputable in Australia, New Zealand and Ireland and has established a UK/Vietnamese joint venture. Pack size is 25 x 27 x 17cm and weighs 8.5kg.
