Commercial waste services provider Reconomy has acquired competitor Countrywide Waste Management and its fully owned subsidiary for an undisclosed sum.
Reconomy said the move consolidated the expansion of the company and follows a 15% increase in revenues expected for 2014.
The enlarged group, which will include Reconomy, Countrywide Waste Management and subsidiary MT Waste Solutions, will have a turnover of over £80m.
The companies will continue to operate separately in the short term.
Paul Cox, managing director of Reconomy, said: “We are delighted to have acquired Countrywide Waste Management Limited to further establish ourselves as the leading provider of waste services to the construction and related industries.
“The synergies between the two businesses, both in terms of culture and customer base, means Reconomy will quickly benefit from an increased supply chain that can deliver enhanced customer requirements, satisfaction and competitive prices.”
The services offered by Telford-based Reconomy include skip hire, hazardous waste disposal, plasterboard recycling and food and clinical waste collections.
Countrywide Waste Management is also active in the commercial and industrial waste management sector across the UK, providing skip hire, site waste management plan and reporting services.
