Waste convertor Advetec has joined 10 other UK enterprises on a trade mission to the United Arab Emirates.

Group CEO Craig Shaw is visiting Dubai and Abu Dhabi for six days as part of a programme which aims to empower small businesses through international trade deals.

The Breakthrough programme is backed by Santander which is making up to £200m of growth capital loans available as part of the programme.

The 11 enterprises will watch presentations meet global exporters and have one-on-one sessions catered to their specific sector.

The UK Trade and Investment team at the British embassy in Abu Dhabi will also be advising the businesses in how to use the Overseas Market Introduction Service.

Santander’s head of Breakthrough, John Williams, said: “Abu Dhabi and Dubai have become enticing markets for UK fast growth businesses. Delegates on the UK trade mission will benefit greatly from meeting range of businesses and experts to share their experiences and gain valuable guidance on how to access the UAE market.”
