Alerted by sight and sound

Q: What is your product?

VT Alarmalight from Vision Techniques combines an audible alarm with high- intensity LED lights. These act as a visual warning and audible alert for pedestrians when a vehicle is reversing.

VT Alarmalight can include bleeps, speech or both, depending on the application. Two or more reversing alarms can be fitted to act in unison if necessary.

Q: How does it work?

VT Alarmalight is automatically engaged when a vehicle is put into reverse, sounding a warning alarm and activating a series of flashing LED lights. Modes include normal mute (Night Silent) and override, half- volume, self-adjusting and mute - all available as standard.

VT Alarmalight is water- resistant and comes with anti-vibration gaskets. It is tested for all on- and off-highway applications.

Q: How is it different?

Current reverse alarms use sound only to create the warning, whereas VT Alarmalight uses sound and high-intensity lights.

When the side lights are on, the unit can either halve the audible output or mute it altogether while the LED warning lights intensify, which continues to provide an effective warning while allowing local residents to rest peacefully.

Q: Where would it ideally be used?

The alarm can be used on any on- or off-highway vehicle to replace the standard reverse alarm. It is ideal for refuse collection or delivery vehicles operating late at night which could potentially disturb residents.

As well as waste and recycling, VT Alarmalight is also suitable for other industries where dirt and dust can impair visibility and make vehicle operation particularly hazardous. Reversing alarms may not be audible to workers wearing ear protectors.

Q: What are the benefits?

Although it is vital to fit reversing alarms to large vehicles to prevent accidents, excessive noise after dark often causes complaints from residents. But with the VT Alarmalight, you can clearly warn pedestrians you are reversing without creating excessive noise.

Q: Any savings?

Savings are made as a result of reducing potential accidents. The alarm is also cost-effective.

Q: What about maintenance?

VT Alarmalight requires little maintenance. The lights should be given a clean every few months.

Q: What is its lifespan?

The alarm is extremely durable and should last the lifetime of the vehicle.
