Apology to Steven Winstone

In an article published on the MRW website on 12 October 2010 under the headline ‘Sita Battle over ’worthless’ scrap metal business Easco reaches court’ and on page 5 of MRW, published on 15 October 2010, we incorrectly stated that a claim was subsisting against Mr Steven Winstone by Sita UK and Sita MR Sheffield Limited.

In fact, the case against Mr Steven Winstone had been discontinued by the time the article was published.  The are no other proceedings which are ongoing save that in January 2010 a worldwide freezing injunction that Sita obtained against Mr Winstone was discharged by the Court and an order was made for there to be an enquiry about Sita’s liability to compensate Mr Winstone for any losses he suffered as a result of that freezing order.

That enquiry has not yet been completed and thus the damages that Sita must pay to Mr Winstone are still to be ascertained.  Mr Winstone is looking forward to completing that process.  We are happy to correct this position and apologise to Mr Winstone for any distress this may have caused.”
