Q: What is your product?
JCB Attachments has launched a work tool app for the iPhone, making it easier for customers to rapidly locate, choose and purchase the right attachments for JCB machines.
Q: How does it work?
This is JCB’s first ever attachments configuration app and gives access to information on its extensive range of more than 2000 attachments.
Whatever the waste and recycling application, customers can search for any attachment for a specific JCB machine, or look for the correct machine to power the attachment.
The app takes the customer through the selection process, with pictures of machines and attachments along with product specifications and features.
Q: What is the cost?
The app is available now as a free download from the iTunes Store, initially in English to customers in the UK and Ireland.
Q: Where would it be used?
The mobile nature of the app means it can be used anywhere - on-site or in the office - whenever an attachments query arises.
Q: What are the benefits?
It allows JCB customers and dealers to quickly identify the required part from across the range, which includes specialist tools for the waste and recycling industry such as buckets, clamps, multi-processors, selector grabs, rock wheels and crusher buckets.
At each point in the process, the customer can tick a box to indicate their interest in the attachment or tool, requesting more information from a dealer. Information requests are logged within the app, including details of the dealer to which the enquiry has been sent. The app also includes contact details for all JCB dealers in the UK and Ireland.
Q: What is its life span?
The contents of the app will be updated every five days, ensuring that the latest information and equipment is available to customers.
Q: Anything else?
There will occasionally be a requirement for an attachment or work tool that JCB does not offer. Third party suppliers can apply to JCB Attachments to have their work tools included on the app.
There is also the opportunity for customers with an idea for a new product, or a particular job for which they require an attachment, to communicate those designs to JCB via the Inventor page.
