Businesses in Ashford are to recieve a recycling ‘toolkit’ to help them reduce waste arisings.

Produced by the Ashford’s Future Company, the Business Recycling Toolkit is aimed at helping local businesses to identify their waste streams and direct them away from landfill.

The toolkit includes a directory of recycling businesses in the region, a ‘5 Practical Steps for Reducing Waste’ guide, a business waste action planner, a waste audit checklist and a list of useful contacts and websites.

Coach company Scotland & Bates operations team member Shaun Windle said: “The Business Recycling Toolkit has given me some really good ideas on ways to make my company greener.

“As a result of using the ‘5 Steps Action Plan’, I have started recycling both our office waste as well as waste arising from our coach operations. I have become an environmental champion for my company.”
