Award winners Cash in on recycling success

The winners of the 2004 National Recycling Awards were announced on Wednesday night at a celebration dinner at the Telford International Centre.

The awards, organised by MRW, attracted many high-calibre entries in the 10 categories, making it difficult for the judges to decide on the winners.

Compere Pat Cash handed out trophies to the winners, which were as follows.

l Best Partnership Project for Recycling All Island Management of Municipal Waste Fridges and Freezers

l Recycling Officer of the Year Amy Troner, Preston City Council

l Recycling Target Success Stockport Council Waste Management

l Best Waste Minimisation Project Lancashire Waste Partnership

l Recycled Product of the Year Terra Eco Systems

l Best Information and Communication Campaign Dacorum Borough Council

l Best Community Project East London Community Recycling Partnership

l Best Reprocessing Initiative the Co-operative Group
