AWS Eco Plastics plant rebuild underway

Rebuilding has begun at a plastic bottle sorting facility in Lincolnshire which was destroyed by fire last August.

The re-built AWS Eco Plastics plant at Helmswell Cliff will be 9000 square metres, around twice the size of the original, which allows for future capacity expansions.

After last years fire, the new building will be split into three distinct fire zones, each with its own fire protection.

Building got underway shortly after AWS received planning permission for the new site in mid-February and it is hoped it will be completed by the end of the summer.

AWS commercial director Duncan Oakes said: So far everything is running to schedule.
