AWS signs additional plastics recycling deal with WRG

AWS Eco Plastics has secured a deal to collect and recycle plastic bottles from two Waste Recycling Group sites.

The new contract to collect baled plastic bottles from the Luton and Carnaby sites follows the current collection and recycling agreement between AWS and WRGs Wrexham facility.

AWS will recycle the bottles at its plant in Lincolnshire, which sorts the materials by colour and polymer. It will convert the bottles PET elements into the companys purePET 78 pellet, which is suitable for the manufacture of new UK bottles.

AWS commercial director Duncan Oakes said: It is encouraging that many of the waste management companies we would typically deal with on a spot basis can see the benefits of committing to long-term contracts, which are not only commercially very competitive but also smooth the peaks and troughs experienced when selling in the spot market.
