Aylesford rewards suppliers

Aylesford Newsprint has introduced an improved bonus scheme for suppliers that regularly meet or exceed the mills quality specification.
Reflecting the tonnage supplied over a given period, the companies and organisations that meet the criteria will be rewarded with a financial bonus.
As one of Aylesfords biggest suppliers, the news has proved of particular interest to social enterprise Ealing Community Transport (ECT).
After receiving £4,000, the organisation devised a scheme where employees exhibiting an understanding of high quality kerbside source segregation were entered into a bonus draw.
Three employees were chosen from each region- West Country, Midlands and London with the winner scooping £700, second getting £400 and £200 going to third.
ECT senior manager Nick Francis said: We wanted to distribute the money amongst our collection and yard staff. After all, they are the ones that make sure that the material collected from kerbsides in the West Country, Midlands and London is of a good quality.
Commenting on the successful use of the bonus scheme money, Aylesford Newsprint commercial manager Chris White said: We introduced this scheme both to reward those suppliers who work so hard for us and to encourage others to follow their lead.
I cannot stress enough how important good quality, source segregated recovered fibre is to our industry and it is essential that we work with all of our suppliers to achieve this.
