Battery recycler takes over buying agent

The owners of a lead battery recycling plant in South Wales have taken over their sole purchasing agents in an agreed deal.

Envirowales, based in Ebbw Vale, announced the move in a joint statement with the agents, L&P Trading, based in Radlett, Hertfordshire.

It read: “The directors of L&P Trading Ltd and Envirowales Ltd are pleased to announce that with effect from 15 April 2013, Envirowales Ltd has, through L&P Ecolead Ltd, acquired the whole of the issued share capital of L&P Trading Ltd, and taken over the assets and liabilities at that date.”

L&P director Simon Isaacs will provide consultancy services to the group for the next six months “to help ensure a smooth transition”.

Envirowales completed the third phase of its £50m plant in Ebbw Vale in 2008 and employs more than 100 people.
