BCB revises Energy from Waste plant plans

North Yorkshire-based waste management firm BCB Environmental Management is to resubmit an application for planning permission for an £18m energy-from-waste plant at Marston Business Park, near Tockwith.

A BCB spokesman said the company decided to pull the original application because it wanted to make a number of changes to the proposal, including changing the height of one of the chimneys.

Managing director Phil Boardman said: We are working to a timetable that will see submission
of the new application by the beginning of April. We hope that, a determination by North Yorkshire County Council will be achieved by August 2009.

He said the application would contain a number of changes to the original proposal, aimed at incorporating the latest developments in technology. Details of the changes will be announced when the application is submitted. Further public consultation will take place before August 2009.
