MGB Plastics has invested a six figure sum in equipment that will boost its capacity by up to 20%.
The wheeled bin manufacturer has bought two injection moulding tools from Italian firm SEF for the production of 240L and 180L bins.
MGB said it was already at full capacity and that the purchase will allow it to cope with demand and boost sales. Every year MGB produces around a million bins and with the new tooling it will be able to improve this by 15-20% - equivalent to around 200,000 extra bins.
MGB Plastics general manager Conor Sugrue said: “It will allow us to be more reactive to customer requirements and deliver a unique service without compromising on quality.
“Our aim is always to delivering maximum quality and value to our customers and this investment in the 240L tool and 180L is a testimony to our commitment to our clients, our business and our innovative products.”
MGB already had a 240L tool but it didn’t have a 180L tool, which it will be using to produce its latest bin product. Last year the company invested in a 2350T Husky injection moulding machine, which could allow it to boost capacity up to 1.5m bins a year.
