The Department for Business Innovation and Skills has confirmed the overall WEEE collection target for 2014 will remain at the proposed level of 490,000 tonnes. The department asked for responses to its proposed targets in early March.
The target for large household appliances has increased by 3,000 to 176,018 tonnes.
An industry insider told MRW this would be difficult to reach due to the recent end to WEEE evidence trading.
The target for cooling appliances containing refrigerants has decreased by 5,000 to 109,469 tonnes.
