B&M acquires WSR's commercial collection routes

B&M Waste Services has bought the commercial waste collection routes of Widnes Skip & Reclaim (WSR) Recycling.

Following a decision by WSR to concentrate on waste treatment, Wirral-based B&M will provide waste management service and collections for existing WSR customers.

B&M has said it will work closely with WSR to send waste for treatment, to reduce landfill reliance and increase recycling and recovery rates.

B&M chief executive Peter Cooke said: “WSR is one of the longest established waste management companies in the north-west, dating back to the 1930s, and we are proud to be partnering with them. We will continue to work closely with WSR to ensure a smooth handover and to utilise their waste treatment facilities for our customers.”

B&M will also employ a business development manager from WSR, and expand its pool of drivers in the Manchester area to accommodate the increased collections.
