B&M Waste Services appoints chief executive

Commercial waste management firm Bagnall and Morris (B&M) Waste Services has appointed a chief executive to lead the business following a 20% year-on-year growth through the economic downturn.

Commercial waste management firm Bagnall and Morris (B&M) Waste Services has appointed a chief executive to lead the business following a 20% year-on-year growth through the economic downturn.

Peter Cooke will head up B&M, which has operations in Wirral and Manchester, employing 140 workers. Previously, Cooke has worked at Waste Recycling Group at the Green Energy Plus division and held the positions of business development manager and regional controller at US firm Waste Management Inc.

The role is new to the firm, which is family-run.

Cooke said: “B&M Waste Services is a terrific company with outstanding customer service and, in my opinion, is one of the best in the region.

“The current challenge that B&M faces is to build on its huge growth, while ensuring that we continue to offer the high standard that all of our customers expect and deserve. I’ve joined the board of directors to ensure that this challenge is fully met.”

B&M recently expanded its materials recycling facility in Bromborough, which is now capable of processing 70,000 tonnes of material each year.
