BMRA poster campaign promotes H&S in metals sector

A poster led campaign to boost health and safety practises in the metal recycling industry has been launched by the British Metals Recycling Association (BMRA). A ten point action plan for businesses will target the main causes of accidents and injuries, which include contact with moving machinery and material being machined.

BMRA spokesman Howard Bluck said: The new posters will help BMRA members to communicate clearly with staff about the most common causes of injury and the hazards that employees need to be aware of. Information is key to the creation of a safer workplace, which is why we are issuing eight posters over the course of 2008.
