Body found at recycling site

The body of a man in his 20s was discovered this week at a recycling site in the Midlands, sparking a police investigation.

West Mercia Constabulary was called to the Ketley civic amenity site in Telford, Shropshire, on Tuesday afternoon. Police pronounced the man dead at the scene and began efforts to identify him and trace his next of kin.

The death is being treated as unexplained and no further information will be released until a formal identification is made. A postmortem and a forensic examination of the area will also be undertaken.

The Ketley Refuse Site belongs to Telford and Wrekin Council and has facilities for paper, cardboard, glass, metal, green waste, textiles, oil and car batteries collection.

Contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
