Business-to-business WEEE compliance scheme gets going

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Forum has accepted a business-to-business compliance scheme as one of its members.

B2B Compliance, which is an initiative of the industrial electrical goods trade association Gambica, will be a compliance scheme for monitoring and control instrumentation, medical devices and related IT equipment.

Gambica chief executive and B2B Compliance board member Geoff Young said: "The WEEE forum, which previously focused upon consumer products, believes that we will make an important contribution to issues relating to compliance within the business-to-business sector.

"Our work and expertise developed over the past two years is now being acknowledged by industry."

The WEEE Forum is a network of European not-for-profit organisations operating compliance schemes under the WEEE Directive.
