Celtic Technologies bought in deal worth up to £9m

In an acquisition that could be worth up to £9 million, international environmental services company EnGlobe has bought Celtic Technologies (CT).

The purchase of CT, a UK based land remediation specialist, will bolster EnGlobes existing UK business Biogenie. It will widen the ability of the company to capitalise on the growing market for clean-up technologies, which has been stimulated by pressure from landfill tax, by offering combined expertise.

EnGlobe interim president and chief executive officer Aline Bélanger said: We will now be better positioned, from both a geographic and technical perspective, to meet growing market demand across the UK where, for example, housing development is a national priority and much of the land available requires remediation.

CT founder and managing director Barry Ellis added: This represents a unique opportunity to join forces and position our combined company as the leader at a critical time when the market requires reliable cost-effective land remediation solutions that we can provide.
