Change at the the top of Larac

The Local Authority Recycling and Advisory Committee (Larac) has a new chief executive.

Lee Marshall

Lee Marshall, left, will take over from current executive officer Colin Kirkby, who is retiring in April 2014.

Marshall was chair of Larac from 2005-09. He then became technical director of engineering consultancy Hyder Consulting.

Marshall said: “Colin is a hard act to follow but I am looking forward to supporting the executive and working with Larac members and the wider industry. These are challenging times and the work of Larac is as important as ever and it will be exciting to be a part of it.”

Larac chair Joy Blizzard is to step down in January 2014 after five years, which is the maximum term allowed under its constitution.
