Choc horror!

Apart from the rebirth of Christ, the coming of spring, bunny rabbits, baby chicks and chocolate, Easter is all about packaging waste.

Waste firm Onyx estimates that 8,000 tonnes of rubbish will be created from Easter eggs alone this weekend.

Chocolate-loving Brits chomp through 80 million of the seasonal treats over the four-day weekend each year.

Onyx reckons they discard 4,370 tonnes of card and 2,880 tonnes of plastic - among other wastes - in the process.

The company is appealing for sweet-toothed and environmentally conscious members of the public to recycle their Easter waste.
