The competition watchdog has formally cleared Sita and Tradebe to form a joint venture clinical waste management business.
The Competition Commission concluded that the merger would not result in “substantial lessening of competition”
The finding is in line with the provisional clearance the joint venture received in February 2014.
The deal, announced in September 2013, was referred to the authority by the Office of Fair Trading for concerns over loss of competition in the Birmingham and Gloucester areas.
Richard Brown, healthcare general manager at Tradebe, said: “Over the past 6 months, we have closely worked with the Competition Commission to provide all the required information for their investigation.
We are delighted to hear that the joint venture has been approved and strongly believe that the new joint venture will provide a strong business acting in the best interest of our customers, employees and shareholders.”
