A London energy from waste site has been rewarded for its organic composting.
The LondonWaste EcoPark facility won the Jim Ballance Compost Marketing Award at the Association for Organics Recycling awards.
LondonWaste said its marketing had challenged Londoners’ perceptions of what could be done with organics.
It said it used a three-pronged communication plan to promote collection of organic waste, endorsing the value of residents’ behaviour and encouraging use of compost.
The EcoPark site in Edmonton, north London, combines an EfW incinerator with the green waste composting facility to treat waste from across north London.
