Consumer garden brand says its recycled woodchip mulch is selling well

Consumer garden brand The Scotts Company now sells recycled woodchip mulch thanks to a direct mailing campaign by the Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP).

After receiving information from WRAP informing landscapers of the benefits of using the material on plant beds to suppress weeds, Scotts investigated the possibility of selling such a product.

Its Levington Nature Scapes Constant Colour Mulch is made from combining recycled woodchip provided by West Bromwich-based wood recycler Giffords, with Scott’s long lasting natural dyes that give the mulch a dark black colour.

Scotts category manager for growing media Karen Barber said: “To date the material has sold well and we anticipate this continuing, particularly as news of its effectiveness spreads by word of mouth among the nation’s gardeners.”
