Contract: The City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council: Recycling and treatment of green waste, wood waste, and sweepings.

Description: A three-year contract seeking a suitably experienced contractor(s) with appropriate facilities to enter into arrangements to undertake the recycling and treatment of green waste arising from the councils kerbside and household waste sites; wood waste arising from the councils kerbside and household waste sites; sweepings waste arising from the councils pavement cleaning service. Divided into three lots.

Contract: ANSA Environmental Services Ltd: Disposal of municipal waste

Description: A one-year contract for a waste disposal solution to cover the current and upcoming unplanned periods whereby the EFW Disposal Facility is unavailable. This involves the disposal of approximately 3,600 tonnes of municipal waste during a 6 week period. Also, an option of providing waste disposal services on an ad-hoc basis for unforeseen municipal waste.

Contract: London Waste Limited: Municipal waste rail transfer and treatment.

Description: A three-year contract involving the treatment and disposal of municipal waste for the North London Waste Authority (NLWA). Since December 2009, the company has operated as a wholly owned subsidiary of NLWA.

Contract: Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust: Domestic waste collection, recycling and disposal services.

Description: A three-year contract to implement a quality domestic waste management service that is vital to the adoption of good environmental practice. The Trust is committed to minimising the effect of waste on the environment by reducing consumption, re-using materials, recycling and, if possible, avoiding landfill.

Contract: Worcestershire County Council: Herefordshire and Worcestershire integrated waste management contract.

Description: The contract involves an amendment to the contract originally awarded in December 1998 (following a competitive award process in accordance with the then applicable Public Services Contracts Regulations 1993 under the negotiated procedure). The amendment was necessary following failure to obtain planning permission in relation to the site envisaged for the construction of an Energy from Waste facility under the original contract and the subsequent granting of planning permission in respect of an alternative site.

Contract: Plymouth City Council: Strategic Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) project.

Description: The contract involves designing, building and financing (as necessary), as well as the operation and/or management (as necessary) of a Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) service solution utilising either a new or existing facility located within or outside Plymouth. The solution must contain a processing element and be capable of recycling commingled recyclate which includes glass whilst maintaining and uplifting recycling performance around which performance standards will be required. The contract will provide for processing and onward disposal of its collected dry recyclate and any contaminants.

Contract: Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust: Confidential waste collection and destruction.

Description: A three-year contract for the collection and destruction of confidential waste including electronic media, medical records, office based information.

Awarded to: Filebase Ltd.

Value: £118,000



Contract: Halton Borough Council: Provision of residual waste treatment services.

Description: A two-year contract seeking to procure capacity at residual waste treatment facilities to divert collected residual MSW for the period up to the commencement of the services under the Resource Recovery Contract. It is anticipated that the scope of the contract will be for up to 35,000 tonnes of MSW to be diverted from landfill per annum. The quantity of waste is approximate only. The initial delivery point for the waste shall be within a 6 mile radius of the current operational depot at Lowerhouse Lane, Widnes, WA8 7AW.
