CONTRACTS WON

Contract: London Waste: refuse recycling services.

Description: The company incinerates in the region of 500,000 tonnes of municipal waste each year via their energy centre and the company generates around 90,000 tonnes of incinerator bottom ash (IBA) as a by-product of the process.The company recovers ferrous and non-ferrous metal from the IBA and now wishes to let a contract for the recycling of the ferrous ash metal.

Contract: Vela Group: refuse and waste related services.

Description: Contract to deliver a waste management programme and achieve best practice and cost effectiveness. The main stream of industrial waste stems from building and refurbishment works. It is estimated that it will produce 3,000 tonnes of a mix of inert/landfill type of waste and active/incinerator waste per annum plus the waste from our offices including confidential waste, disposal of tyres, fridge freezers and electrical waste computers etc. All waste removal in the borough of Stockton on Tees and Hartlepool covering the following services. Lot 1: general waste/refuse disposal/recycling. Lot 2: office confidential waste/recycling. Lot 3: additional waste/refuse disposal/recycling. Lot 4: ad hoc skips. Lot 5: access to waste transfer station facility.

Contract: Eastern Shires Purchasing Organisation (ESPO)

Description: A two-year framework agreement divided into 18 lots including supply of plastic wheeled bins, steel wheeled bins, food waste caddies and kerbside collection boxes as well as its two new products, the 3BoxStack and the food waste inner caddy.

Contract: ESPO: waste and rubbish containers and bins.

Description: A framework agreement for the supply and direct delivery to eligible end-user establishments of a wide range of refuse and recycling products, including plastic and steel wheeled bins, recycling boxes and bags, liners, refuse sacks, waste housing units and compost bins as well as maintenance and repair services of bins.

Awarded to: 18 lots awarded to separate operators

Value: £80m - £200m
