Contract: Environment Agency. Operational Waste Management, South East.

Description: Collection, transportation and disposal of operational waste from various sites across the South East of England. Waste is generated from the undertaking of the Environment Agency’s routine operational activities. Potential waste streams include, general waste, hazardous waste, shopping trolleys, plastic, metal, MDF and timber, batteries, some hazardous chemicals, glass, WEEE, card, tyres, green waste, some limited construction waste.

Contract: Cumbria County Council. Framework agreement for the treatment of municipal composting waste arising in Cumbria.

Deadline: 26.10.2012 - 12:00.

Description: Cumbria Council, acting as the central purchasing body on behalf of the Cumbria Strategic Waste Partnership, wishes to procure a framework agreement for the treatment of municipal composting waste arising within the county. This procurement is on behalf of all Cumbria Waste Collection Authorities and the council.

Contract: Renfrewshire Council. End of life solutions for electrical items.


Description: Disposal of waste electrical items owned by the council. Predominantly this requirement shall cover IT equipment such as desktop PCs (including monitors, keyboards etc), laptops and printers. Additional miscellaneous items may also be included such as phones and white goods. Contractors shall be required to help Renfrewshire Council achieve an obligation for recycling by helping to promote reuse of equipment rather than recycling wherever possible whist maximising the value of the equipment being disposed of, in order to achieve a cost neutral disposal solution over the course of the contract. Known methods being considered currently are to retain the hard drives within all machines and erase the data via a preparatory data wiping solution certified to the relevant standards

Contract: East Renfrewshire Council. Processing of co-mingled organic green and organic food waste.

Won by: Gp Plantscape Ltd.

Value: £912,000

Contract: The North West Region Waste Management Group. The receipt, transfer, processing/brokerage to end markets of wheeled bin, kerbside collected commingled dry recyclables.

Won by: Re-Gen.

Value: £4m.
