Cory win East Northamptonshire contract

Cory Environmental and East Northamptonshire District Council have agreed a new six-year integrated waste management contract including a full kerbside collection for every household in the district.

From last Monday, August 1, Cory has begun the new contract to provide refuse and recycling collection, recycling, street and toilet cleansing services to the council.

Under the new contract, each household will receive three boxes for recycling. A green box for dry recyclables, a red box for paper and a blue box for mixed glass. The green box and red box will be collected fortnightly on alternate weeks with the blue box collected every month.

A new range of vehicles has also been ordered as a result of the contract win. These include seven new Mercedes chassis, Faun-bodied vehicles for refuse and recycling, two Johnson road sweepers and five new Mitsubishi Canter cleansing vehicles.

Cory Environmental East Northamptonshire Contract Manager Robert Clarke said: "This is an important contract for Cory to win. Being awarded a third term is also great news for recycling in the district. With all 34,500 households able to take advantage of the new kerbside recycling scheme, East Northamptonshire's impressive recycling performance looks set to continue."
