Countrystyle wins Kent schools contract

Kent waste firm Countrystyle Recycling has been appointed to supply waste collection, treatment and disposal services at schools across Ashford and Shepway districts in Kent.

Under the two-year contract, which is part of a framework agreement with Kent County Council, Countrystyle will provide collection and disposal services for general waste and mixed recyclables. It is likely to cover 76 educational establishments.

The waste will be sorted and baled at Countrystyle’s own facility in Ridham in Sittingbourne and transported onward for reprocessing.

Janet Stein, client services manager at the council, said: “We encourage our schools to eliminate waste to landfill and increase recycling, so are looking forward to developing this partnership with Countrystyle Recycling to encourage greater recycling through education and positive marketing.”
