Cullet plant nears completion

Rockware Glasss latest cullet treatment plant will be operational this summer, allowing the container manufacturer to use more recycled glass cullet in production.

The plant at Wheatley, Doncaster, is being built by partner Berryman. It will use sophisticated detection and separation techniques to produce high-quality cullet for Rockwares Wheatley factory.

Rockware and Berryman have operated a similar plant in Knottingley for four years. They are now working with Doncaster residents to increase the amount of glass collected for recycling in the area.

Rockware logistics director Malcolm Vernon said: We are very proud of our new facility at Wheatley and plan to add an information centre in the near future so that local groups can see for themselves why it is so important to collect and recycle used glass bottles and jars.
