Alun Davies is the new Welsh minister for natural resources and agriculture, after being promoted from his role as deputy minister for agriculture.
It was announced over Twitter that Davies’ remit will broaden to include waste as part of a Welsh Government re-shuffle. He is taking on the responsibilies of the Welsh environment minister, John Griffiths, who is now minister for culture and sport.
Davies will also oversee Natural Resources Wales (NRW), which is the country’s new environment body combining the roles of the Welsh Environment Agency, Forestry Commission and Countryside Council from 1 April.
