EMR acquires Sunderland's 'largest' metal merchant

European Metal Recycling has acquired Sunderlands largest metal merchants Sunderland Metal Company.

The firm, situated in Pallion, will continue to operate as normal under the new ownership accepting all grades of ferrous and non ferrous metal including end of life vehicles.

EMR regional director Mike Seale said: We are delighted to have acquired such a well established company in Sunderland. The new site will complement our existing operations in the North East and give us the opportunity to expand our processing activities in an area where we have focused largely on shipping in the past.

Sunderland Metal Company managing director Bill Dalziel said: I would like to thank all our customers for their business and loyalty over the years and long may it continue.
