Environcom picks up Overton Recycling from administration

Environcom has acquired fellow WEEE recycler Overton Recycling from administration, expanding to a third site in the UK.

Environcom will take over operations at Overton Recycling’s Lye facility. Environcom already operates a WEEE reuse and recycling facility in Grantham and one in Edmonton, North London. Combined the sites allow Environcom to process around 175,000 tonnes of waste electronics per year.

Brierley Hill-based Overton Recycling filed for administration in November 2013.

Sean Feeney, chief executive at Environcom (right), said: “We’re delighted to have acquired Overton Recycling which will not only increase Environcom’s processing capacity but will also secure key recycling jobs in the industry.”

The move will secure some 50 jobs at the West Midlands site.
