Ex-Defra regulation chief joins ESA

Former Defra head of waste regulation Roy Hathaway has joined the Environmental Services Association (ESA) in a part-time role, the trade body announced today.

Hathaway will act as an adviser to the industry lobby group, and ESA director general Barry Dennis said he was delighted to have “someone of Roy’s experience and calibre” working with the organisation.

“As the voice of the waste and resource management industry, ESA is looking to play a constructive role in the debate over how Britain can become more resource efficient and low carbon,” said Hathaway.

“Roy’s contribution will strengthen our ability to do this.”
