Expansion for CSG

Independent waste management firm Cleansing Service Group has announced its second acquisition in the north east of England.

Hampshire-based CSG has bought Middlesbrough hazardous-waste specialist Harpers Environmental Services.

CSG managing director Neil Richards said: “This latest purchase is in line with our strategy of being able to provide a wide range of waste treatment and recycling facilities to customers in all areas of the UK.

“The Harpers Environmental Services purchase is part of an acquisition programme which has seen CSG acquire four businesses over the past two years.”

Harpers Environmental Services was put into administration earlier in January.

Its 2.2 acre site in Middlesbrough has a PPC permit for waste treatment and transfer, and has processing facilities providing treatment and recycling services including chemical analysis, ultra filtration and biological treatment, oil and water treatment, washing plant for rags, as well as drum and IBC decontamination.

CSG recently purchased Teesside-based Wilton Waste Treatment which operates a bio-treatment plant handling organic effluent.

For Clarification: The company in administration is Harpers Environmental Services. Parent firm Harpers Environmental Limited is not in administration and continues to trade normally.
