A Hampshire company supplying metal detection, inspection and sorting equipment to the recycling, plastics and food industries has expanded to meet the demands of its inspection and material sorting customers.
S+S Inspection, a subsidiary of the S+S Separating and Sorting Technology Group, is now in a facility at Swanwick which is more than twice the size of the previous home.
The new factory accommodates test lines for metal detection, both conventional and X-ray inspection, and for sorting by material and colour. In addition, the company’s servicing capability has been expanded and an assembly capability will be introduced on the new site.
An expanded test laboratory will allow customer product testing on the company’s food industry metal detection systems fitted with a range of reject mechanisms. Later, test and demonstration lines for plastics contamination detection and separation and recycling sorting will be brought on line.
UK managing director, Richard Lines, said: “Despite the current, difficult economic conditions, we have continued to increase sales to all sectors, especially food and recycling, have recruited additional staff and now have the facility needed to meet customer demands. S+S as a group believes in on-going investment and what we are doing in the UK is mirrored throughout the organisation.”
