Fire fighters continue to fight blaze at paper recycler

A four pump relief crew are due to take over fighting a blaze at the Nordic Recycling waste paper facility in Kent this evening.

The fire started at 11.45am yesterday morning and a Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) spokeswoman confirmed that the blaze was not out yet, but under control.

Because of the quantity of material involved it is going to take quite some time to put out, she said.

No one was injured in the fire and KFRS confirmed there was no threat to human life. A risk assessment of the area is being carried out and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
